Sunbeam Tiger alternator bracket
This is a direct bolt on bracket that aligns with the unique Tiger pulley offsets. The bracket is made from CNC machined 12mm billet 6061-T6 aluminium plate, standoffs are aluminium round bar. Supplied in as machined condition., so paint, polish, or powdercoat as preferred.
One of the longer stand offs is shorter than the other two, to account for the dipstick tube.
You have a choice of with, or without, the Sunbeam "S" logo as shown
Battery must be disconnected
1. Wires removed from generator were individually heat shrunk over, then taped back into the wiring harness, for a stockish look.
2. Run a 6AWG wire from alternator to the Bat cable terminal on the starter solenoid. I put a 100A fuse in line with the above wires – alternator is 85A.
3. I removed the old MK1 regulator and its mounting plate. This could be gutted and used as a terminal block with a fuse(s) inside for a stock look if preferred.
4. The two brown wires that were on the "B" terminal were screwed
together and heat shrunk over. (there are really three wires but only
two terminal lugs). This is the perfect place to install an in-line fuse to
protect the lighting system, rather than just screwing the wires together.
5. The other wires from the old regulator were individually heat shrunk over, and taped into the harness.
A one wire alternator has no provision for an idiot light, but 2 wire versions are available. Given the ammeter is limited to 30A, and I now have an 85A alternator, and bought a matching voltmeter from Jim Gislason (jim@island.net)
